Tangram

The tangram is a puzzle that I remember doing in high school for maths. Should be used for design too. Great for doing composition and is a great problem solving exercise.
Wanted to something similar-ish but much harder but using parts of the logo. So people with design creativity and intrigue will do it. I enjoyed it so maybe other so called "creatives" would like the exercise.

Got 3d tutor Phil to cut some out (because the bansaw and me don't agree) so hopefully have some semi circles at about 120mm diameter out of 6mm MDF.

logo type

My little fold out of logo's will have something like this on the cover. The only shape used in the text is the semi circle and only one size. I know it's a "trendy" kind of type face (block letters...) but it fits the demographic.. or are their just gonna be more hipsters here. Also, I do know it looks kind of like 'logo' book cover (Michael Evamy's book).

Can you read this

Space the final frontier

To space or not to space, it only makes a difference if it is the solid one. Because I have a gradient it is now possible to have no space.

I'm trying to redefine what a logo is this logo is an ever changing ever growing thing. It is 2 semi circles on 45 degree angle slightly off center running parallel with each other.

Pacman extension

One comment I received was that the original log looked like Pacman (Also anime eyes, and lots of hate feedback). I know that the original was clunky, but I liked the idea of the different ways of presenting it. One way I have pushed on with is as a pizza evolving into the logo by just moving the slice.

Another is Pacman. I have done some flash animations that show and development. And some that are animated versions of the logo. Pacman and 'Clyde'

screens from animation.
There are counters but I just took the screen at the wrong time

explained

Can't see letters? here you go. This is basically my logo. The whole form is the S and the parts (2) by them selves and as below.

I realise that I am explaining to no one. Hopefully I have one reader...no. Eh, I talk to myself all the time.

What if there was one?

I have the separation so I don't need 2 circles, one will do. Also, on the project front their is no more brand extension. Just this School of Art and Design logo . Oh, haven't talked about gradients... I don't like gradients, generally only if done subtly. Why do so many logos need to include everything, gradients, shadows, 3d form, key lines, shiny details.... Are the new class....

Further development

Trying out different sizes of the semi circle but still maintaining the 3 letters not liking any of these though

This angle I like and the spacing makes it symmetrical. If it didn't have the the space is the S then it would be very off balance

Hole in the middle developed into swooshes. I know people will look at this logo and think another swishy logo. And globe like too, what the world needs more of, maybe I will put some lower case text that's friendly, but still corporate. But this is using the logo as letters. Their is bound to be a logo that looks like this somewhere.
